Planting alium bulbs in pots for spring planting into borders

Can alium bulbs be planted in pots this autumn with the intention of planting them into boarders next spring? I can't plant bulbs in the borders at this point as many of my border perennials need moving, which I intend to do next spring.

Why, you might ask, don't I move them now, the reason being that a length of fencing is being replaced over the autumn and winter, which will necessitate workers trampling over the border - it's best to move the perennials after the fencing has been replaced.

Will the aliums survive, yet alone flower, if I move them from pots into the ground next spring?

Yes, that's how I always plant my spring-flowering bulbs. By spring they have made plenty of root which holds the compost together and you can plant them out when they're just coming into growth.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
