Dying shrub

Does anyone know what this shrub is and be able to suggest a reason why it may be dying? The dead branches are increasing week on week
Thank you

I don't know what it is, but have you been watering it? The weather has been very dry lately and even if it rains a bit, the water is unlikely to get through the leaves and branches down to where it's needed.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • It looks like a large specimen of Buxus sempervirens (commonly know as box). It does not look like box moth caterpillar damage but it could be box blight. This link to RHS page on box blight might help you ID the issuehttps://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=96
  • Thank you. I think it may be the fungus. Our buxus Elsewhere in the garden are infested with box moth caterpillar and it has destroyed much of our very well grown bux. 😢
