Insect indentification

Hello. I’ve just found this in one of my potatoes. It looks like an ant to me, but I didn’t think ants fed on potatoes! So is it an ant or something else? Hope that someone knows.

I suspect it is a parasitic wasp which has emerged after growing from an egg laid inside whatever made the hole in the potato, which it ate from the inside  A complicated explanation, but that's all I can think of. :)

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Hi BobTheGardener. Thank you for answering. A parasitic wasp...🙄....that makes so much more sense than my ‘ant’! 🙂
