phlox subulata ground cover - when to plant

If I buy a supply of various phlox subulata and plug them into the ground now, will they survive winter and grow in next year? Or is it better to wait for spring at this point?

    Depends what size they are. If they're in 3 inch pots or smaller I'd overwinter them,  and wait until they're a bit bigger in spring.
    If they're decent sized plants, and you have the plot for them prepped, you can plant any time unless ground is frozen or waterlogged. If it's waterlogged, it won't suit them though  ;)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Thanks - they come in 9cm (so about 3 inch) pots, so better safe than sorry I will pot them up!

    They could well be fine if you have the perfect conditions for them, but they aren't going to grow much now anyway, so it's a better bet to wait.
    They're tough wee plants, but they'll be better ones next year  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
