Would someone know what this is. Would like to know so it can be given the correct fertilizer and pruning etc
Thanks

  • It's a Hebe, but I can't tell you which variety.
  • It would benefit from a bit of bonemeal in the autumn, but you don't need to prune it at all unless it has got out of shape or leggy. They are good plants, fairly drought resistant and easy care.
  • thank you for replying. we will know how to look after it now.

Spring is the time to give food, not autumn.
A slow release food is ideal, like Blood,Fish and Bone. If you need to prune [for instance, if it's going to outgrow the space]  it's better to do it gradually, not wait until it's too big and then hard prune. Many don't recover from that. Taking them back a little each year after flowering is the best method, but the eventual size and spread will depend on the variety as there are hundreds of all sizes and types.
They look best of you remove the spent flower heads after they go over  :)

It might be Autumn Glory that you have, but there are lots.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
