Hi - Now is a good time.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

I always buy fresh seed, as they often cross, but they're also best sown direct in spring/early summer.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

@Fairygirl and @philippasmith2    Mine were in full force around mid-June, then finally died off about mid/end July.  They resurrected about  3 weeks ago - self seeded and are going great guns!!  This photos is from mid-June.

I deadhead constantly to stop seed forming anyway.  :)
One pot still has some, but the other one was done a wee while ago

    Great thanks
so if I plant the seeds I have collected now, may they come again this year or should I wait till spring - I’m in the north east but weather has been amazing

@srdonkin   Well that is for the gardeners further Norf than me.  Not the same climate, but still the same gardening problems!!

Frankly, I don't expect my nasturtiums to go much further than Christmas, once the nights down here get cold.

You could always eat some of them😊
Also, they'll probably sow themselves anyway.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

I generally find that once you've got nasturtiums, they drop so much seed that you've got them for life.  :) Luckily they are one of my favourite plants for this time of year, such a pop of colour. I have only ever seeded them once, it was probably spring, but no special sowing conditions and they came straight up. I've even got some flowering away in a shady corner, unexpectedly.

Here are a couple of photos of my nasturtiums  - some self-seeded in the ground (near my pond) and the other, in a tub to hopefully give a nice display later on.  (hopefully)!!

It will depend on your local climate as to whether they seed themselves.
They don't here, too cold and wet over winter, and I always miss some seeds, despite regular deadheading.
Or the pigeons eat them  :)
