Audrey Ficus - brown and curled leaves

Hi - I got this Audrey Ficus 2 months ago. It came healthy with strong, straight leaves and new growth.

However, since then the original leaves have developed brown spots on the leaf or on the edges. Many have dropped. And all of the new leaves are curled on the edges, rather than being straight. The plant continues to produce new leaves.

I've read that the brown and curled leaves can be due to over-watering. However, I've only watered about once per 7-10 days and bought a device to help monitor the water level. The plant sits inside next to an east-facing window; I've since moved outside to the balcony to see if some extra sunlight would help.

Planter is plastic with drainage holes in the bottom.

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is it in direct sun through the window in the mornings? If so, that could be causing the browning. They like bright but indirect light so maybe try moving it a bit further away from the window.
They also don't like draughts so if you have the window open, that might be a factor.
Another common cause of brown leaf edges in houseplants is physical damage such as people or pets brushing against them when walking past, but it doesn't show up instantly so that one can be hard to diagnose.
