  I’m not sure this is grown in the U.K.,  having Googled I can find no info on seed germination.

  Hi LynI bought some from Mr Fothergills, it has growing instructions but was just wondering if anyone had had any success with them as it does say you may have difficulty with germinating

  Yes, found them, the instructions look good, I would follow them and see.

  Don't know if their advice differs from yours but a reviewer says he found out it takes 5 to 10 years to flower from seed.
