Hedging for shade

I have a north facing fence with a large oak tree in one corner and large shed in other corner. Because of this this area is in the shade all day long. Can you recommend any hedging that grows well in the shade.

    Most hedging will cope with shade @nicola.friend23, but it's the soil that's more important  :)
    Keeping moisture levels at a good level is necessary, especially when establishing hedging, so as long as you can do that, many types will be fine. Beech and Hornbeam will be fine for example, and so will Hawthorn, which will grow anywhere.
    Once there's good rainfall, which should be happening soon [or already is depending where you live] mulching will also help lock that moisture in, and as we're now approaching bare root season, it's great time to prep ground and get plants in. Much cheaper too.
    As your oak becomes dormant, that rain will also get into the ground more easily  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
