Lupin aphids!

Hi guys 
The dreaded aphid has covered my lupins! I was so proud of them this year as well. Anyone got any tips of getting rid of them? I've read online garlic spray,washing up water...does it work? I've cut them down to the ground for now

    I had loads of them last year, not at all this year. If you've cut them right down you may be lucky and they won't return...?

    Never had them before and now I have a swarm that would put Joseph plague of locusts to shame 😭😭. Thankfully my really big lupin hasn't been bothered and is just throwing out it's 4th set of flowers for the year 😀. I followed Adam Frosts lead and have cut right back
