Evening all

Any clues as to the species in the photo please, really nice deep purple under leaf.

On a separate tip any one had any success on growing Chocolate Cosmos. Look great but not sure how well they cope with the British winter?

Chocolate cosmos isn't frost hardy in the UK so would need protection in most areas.
Sorry - I don't know your other plant, although it looks familiar.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Might be Plectranthus Ciliatus ‘Nico’ or something similar.

I spotted one in your neck of the woods (well West Scotland!) in Inverewe gardens that looked great

Yes - but they'd need overwintered, although Inverewe has a well known micro climate  as it's coastal /Gulf stream etc:)
They're often grown from seed each year too.

The west of Scotland is a big place  ;)

Ha ha yes as I found out during my wonder today. Thanks for the heads up sounds like they’re out for what I have planned sadly

It's a lovely plant, and I've often been tempted myself. We get upwards of fifty or sixty frosts here every year, as well as all sorts of other stuff, so I'd need to sow seed each year.
    I'm too lazy   :D

My chocolate cosmos have occasionally survived outdoors here in Lincolnshire, but this year I'm going to dig them up and bring them under shelter... fingers crossed...

Good luck. I think from these comments however sadly it won’t be one for my garden

I didn’t think chocolate cosmos grew from seed? Or are you talking about the other one?
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I'm sure I've seen it as seed @Lyn, although it's more often done as cuttings.
