Fungi

I have just taken up some weed suppressant as there was a huge lump underneath and have exposed three enormous fungi/toadstools around 1ft in diameter -   Can anyone tell me anything about them and how to dispose of them?

  • They are probably a type of 'Puffball' fungi, some of which can get very large.
If you don't fancy getting them properly identified for possible consumption (many are edible), then just put them under a bush where they will slowly breakdown and disappear, or throw them in the bin.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

Possibly giant puffball mushrooms but a bit hard to tell as they are rather degraded. Harmless and good to eat when fresh and not damaged from growing under membrane. You can just put them in the compost bin.
