Aloe vera problem

I have just noticed all these  marks on my aloe vera plants. Does anyone know what it is and if there is any way to get rid of it please.

I can’t see it very clearly ... Are those small dark things raised lumps?  If so I think they’re scale insects.

It's not scale insects.  More like indented points of rot in the leaves.

  • There are defiantly no insects. It does look like rot. It just seem odd those little dots. I thought some sort of fugus.

I can zoom in now (WiFi probs earlier) and yes ... I can see I was wrong about scale. 😬

  • Has it been splashed with something? Do Aloes not like to have water on their leaves?
  • Thanks for your replays

What type of soil do you have it in?  How often do you water?  If it's in normal potting soil (not succulent soil or a mix of free draining) and you water it frequently, it's probably stressed by too much water and susceptible to bacterial or fungal diseases.

It's in a very sandy compost and it rarely gets watered maybe every couple of weeks

  • at this time of year i've given my aloes the last watering of this year, from now on they'll not get water till February next year, the really don't mind drought, thats why they have the fleshy leaves
  • Thank you for all your advice.
