  • I use a website called

    https://www.gardenia.net/

it is an American site but don’t let that put you off, it covers plants grown all around the globe. It has wonderful planting ideas and colour schemes for all types of trees, perennials, shrubs etc. It’s well worth a look.

Life's tragedy is that we get old too soon and wise too late.

  • Hi David,  I find these books the bibles of plant knowledge and selection.  There is a late perennials one also which should be delivered next week.  Full of in situation pictures as well as close up.  The books are available second hand in ebay as they can sometimes be hard to come by.

I haven't tried it yet, because I've literally just spotted it, but if you're an RHS member and use the MyRHS service, they have a thing called 'My ideas' where they suggest plant combinations for you.
