What are these holes in my garden?

Hello, please could someone identify these holes? They first started appearing in the corner of my garden as shown in the attached picture, however the amount has now doubled in size and I don't want them to take over my small garden!

Possibly caused by mining bees ?

ADD ON: plenty of these flying around if that helps. They don't look like wasps though - they're skinnier and brighter in colour

I agree with @AnniD ... you are privileged to have mining bees in your garden.

Brilliant

I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing my colony of buff/white tailed bees this year which made a home. Fingers crossed the queen[s] overwinter again.
