Plant ties for horizontal wires

I'm looking for advice on where I can buy ties which fit over horizontal strained wires. You clip one end over the wire then go round/across the plant stem and clip the other end back on the wire. This prevents the stem from moving along the wire unlike string or similar.

Is this a product you have seen somewhere? Clips sound quite rigid and may rasp against the plant stem. I use jute string for delicate stems or soft tie for larger stems like roses. The latter is a soft, rubber-coated wire - if you twist/tie it tightly onto the wire first then loop around the plant stem, tie off in the middle like a figure of eight, it doesn’t move, nor does the stem rub against the wires. As @Fairygirl says, it’s more about the tying technique than the tie, but a soft, flexible material is best.

Thanks for the advice. I have used string for several years now and unfortunately I find it does slide along the wires. Perhaps I should look at my tying technique although a hitch is pretty much the only option.

The best search term to use is ‘vine ties’ and eBay has a bigger choice than Amazon. I do not know if these ties would grip the wire more securely than tied string.

No-one's mentioned cable ties, christopherroberts1958, which can be made even 'kinder' by slipping an appropriate length of soft rubber tubing on to them before fixing.

To ensure they don't slide along the wire, take some cast off heavy duty electric cable with strong insulation. Remove the wire from inside. With a Stanley knife carefully slit it lengthways and cut it into suitable lengths for the spacing you require. Each piece can then be clipped on to the wires, never to move again?

I have used clothes pegs to stop it sliding, which is less like hard work if it is adequate for you and your wire.
