Whitefly on Kale

My kale is covered with whitefly, I've tried washing off but they keep coming back.  I have the kale growing in a frame covered in green mesh, could this be the problem?

    Our curly kale is not covered in mesh and also has a lot of whitefly which only show up when I go and harvest leaves for dinner.    I just give the leaves a good wash and they seem undamaged and very tasty.

    Thank you Obelixx, perhaps it's nothing to do with having them covered then. They're pesky little blighters.  😤
