Chilli plants flower but no fruit produced

I have 3 Naga chilli plants that were grown from seed, they are in pots in the garden in a sunny position. They have had a profusion of flowers and the bees have been busy but do not go on to produce fruit.  I gave some to my sister who has had the same problem. Where am I going wrong?

  • In our polytunnel I often have to do the pollinating by hand on peppers and aubergines even though the pollinators have access, all though the chillies do ok.  Maybe this has been the same issue.
Can you cross pollinate the flowers using a small brush/cotton bud and see if you get any results?
  • Thank you I will give that a try. I grew chillies in the garden last year and they produced lots of chillies.
  • The plants are not too big so I will try and find a place in my porch which is south facing.
