How to get Japanese Skimmia to flower?

I have 2 Japanese Skimmia, planted in pots-last winter they had lovely red berries. This year, although they look healthy and have grown well, there were no flowers. I think this means they are both female and need a male plant for fertilisation. Is this correct and how would I know I was buying a male plant?

Plants normally have the info on them, unless you're buying from supermarkets etc. From a reputable GC or nursery, it isn't a problem to get the right one  :)

Skimmia jap. Rubella is the most readily available male variety, so try searching for that one, or just search for male Skimmia varieties  :)

If you look on line at a supplier of Skimmias, then next to the name of each type they will say: male, female or hermaphrodite [ male and female
