Birds Foot Trefoil in baskets

Is Birds Foot Trefoil suitable for growing in hanging baskets.? If so when do I plant seeds?
Thanks

Depends on the size and depth of your basket I suppose and also the compost you use and how often you can water.    Didn't this plant feature on GW recently being grown in pots when Frances Tophill visited a chap who's a bit of a guru on gardening for wildlife and pollinators?

The RHS offers this advice on how and when to sow the seeds - https://www.rhsplants.co.uk/plants/_/lotus-corniculatus/classid.2000018813/

  • Should be fine in a container or basket so long as you provide good drainage and a sunny spot. Also the soil does not need to be rich as this plant can utilise special bacteria to fix its own nitrogen.
  • Thank you

Nice idea. I wonder if some of the sprawling vetches would also work.

  • Thanks I quite like that idea might try that also.
