Monty's love for Parsley !

What on earth does Monty do with all the Parsley he seems to grow??
I've never bothered cos I just can't think why it's so necessary. Am I missing something??

We get through loads of parsley here ... I can never grow enough ... salads, omelettes, soups, broths gratins, pies, stuffings, sauces ... and more. There’s scarcely a meal that doesn’t involve parsley in one way or another in this house ... but I never ever ever garnish a dish with a ‘sprig’ of parsley.

We used to have a rabbit that loved the stuff but mostly we freeze any excess for winter use. Boiled ham and parsley sauce is a house favourite.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

Tuna pasta salad, parsley is essential.
Parsley and butter on new potatoes - better than mint😋
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • I think its the sprig of parsley garnish and the fish in parsley sauce of childhood that put me off. I must try to be more creative. Now - Lovage - that's what my kitchen can't be without Mmmmm

I would love to grow enough - it's only really worth growing in bulk. It does have taste, full of vit C, lovely and fresh. I get through huge amounts of fresh herbs.
  • I'm Greek...can't live without. Just used quite a bit in a coucous salad, can't imagine any tomato based sauce not having parsley to finish it off with. Coriander on the other hand...the furthest away from me it is, the happiest I am 😂
