Anyone know what to do about this?

Two established potted fushias and now my jasmine is being destroyed by something thats causing the leaves to blister and die off? I've never had a problem with it before.

Many thanks

Someone else had a similar problem which turned out to be fuschia gall mite, could that be it?

The images show webbing.. red spider mite?

  • Thank you. I shall google red spider mite. I had some similar leaves on a jasmine so maybe it's something not specific to fushias.

Fuchsia Gall, best cut off diseased leaves and hope for the best, or destroy and buy a new plant.

  • Hi Lyn. They look absolutely dreadful now so I think they're destined for the bin. I'm a bit worried that if I get another one, the same thing will happen. They were lovely last year, such a shame.

You can bin them if you like, but it's not a fatal disease. A number of mine have recovered after I cut them to ground level.
The important thing is hygiene. Clean your secateurs or fingers when moving from one plant to another.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Thank you. I've nothing to loose so I'll chop them to the compost, isolate them as they're in pots and hope for the best.
