Rose 'officianalis'

gjautosgjautos Posts: 429
Hi all. I have a rose 'officianils' that i planted two years ago, in completely the wrong place! If i wait until october/november, am i right in thinking it is ok to move it? I was planning on pruning it right back and digging it up with as much soil as possible and transplanting it across the garden. Is this ok to do? Tia.

Sorry to piggyback, I have a similar question... I have a climbing rose whose base is facing the wrong way / tilting away from the fence. Can I dig him up and turn him around in the off season?

Yes, it's OK to move. No need to prune, it would mean losing flowers and it isn't needed (only remove dead or diseased wood). Roses take moving well when they are dormant. Prune after flowering in early summer if it's needed but similar roses are better left to their own devices with little or no pruning.
