When to separate cuttings for individual potting?

Hi all, I’m so pleased that I’ve finally, after a couple of years worth of failed attempts, managed to have some success it seems with cuttings.

I took Lavender and salvia cuttings a couple of weeks ago (possibly three or more, I’ve completely lost track of time!) dipped them in rooting hormone and stuck several into pots. The lavender went in a standard lidded propagator and I just put a plastic bag over the salvia.

Anyway the Salvia pot already has some roots showing through the holes in the bottom in a few places. A little bit of fresh growth on most of them too.

How long should I leave them before turning out and potting individually?

Lavender is not yet showing roots at the bottom of the pot, but some of the cuttings have definitely grown, I pinched new little flower buds off three of them yesterday which definitely weren’t there when I first took them.

Thanks

    Congratulations!
When I take cuttings as soon as I see roots at the bottom of the pot I plant them up seperately.
You can give the lavender a very gentle pull, you'll feel resistance if it has roots, but I'd wait until I see roots at the bottom of the pot to be sure.

Same as @Pete.8 says - when they have roots showing. Much easier than waiting until they get tangled.

    Satisfying, isn't it?  :)
