I want more tulips, for both back and front garden and for bulb display pots. Also some small daffs and crocuses to rejuvenate pots that are from previous year or two.
Blue camassias for my blue and purple border. And some chionodoxa or scilla.

I placed an order at Farmer Gracy this morning with the free postage offer.
I went for the tulip bulbs which might naturalise in the garden.
    Tulip pulchella violacea
    Tulip humilis Helene

  • Nice choices @PageZ do love purples and hot pinks in the garden.

  • That's a good buy @Bijdezee have found their seeds to be good too. Unfortunately I'm avoiding going to supermarkets in person as mask wearing is still not exactly universal and I'd rather limit exposure to morons whenever possible.

I think I have violacea Black Base - or some very similar ones. Persian Beauty is nice too.
Those small purply/rosy ones are lovely  :)

    'Exposure to morons.' Quite.
Hard enough to avoid them even without a pandemic.... ;)

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I've just come back from a B&M, they have their first bulbs in stock now. Refreshed the daffodils, crocus and alliums, very cheap and all seem decent quality. I already had a bunch of bulbs in the basket at Crocus, b&m were less than half the price. No tulips yet. Of course the down side is it's pot luck what they have in stock.

They're very strict on the Covid rules and mask wearing here - large fines up to 4,000 euros for break g it, so people don't.
  • If only the UK was quite so organised @Bijdezee the face covering situation in London is getting worse by the week. Unfortunately all the mixed messages from the government has led many to think the worst of the crisis is behind us.

My neighbour had some album summer drummers last year, caused some comment among passers by while they were growing as they looked very strange and about 6' tall. then they slowly opened into a purple tennis ball.
East Dorset, new (to me) rather neglected garden.

They were very popular  we had loads of queries on the forum about those alliums last year and this year, because people didn't know what they were.  :)

One bulb I won't be recommending is a 'thing' called Bellevalia romana. Hideous, and the buds never opened up enough to look anything like the photos. They were like a weird broccoli.
Either that or the bulbs were completely wrong to start with.  :/
