Seedlings over winter

I have sown a load of echinacea seeds which have germinated and have now got a true leaf! They are in a small poly tunnel but as it’s quickly heading to September I’m wondering if poly tunnel will be ok for them over winter! I’m hoping to pot up ASAP. I also have a greenhouse but neither are heated. Does anyone have any advice much appreciated 😀

Mature echinacea are hardy down to -10C or so but babies won't be and it's very late to be sowing them.   Spring is the usual time and that gives them time to mature and grow a root system which will survive winter.

If you can get them potted on and then stacked together in your polytunnel or greenhouse and in trays which you can cover with fleece or even cardboard when cold nights are expected you should get some thru the winter.

They would have been OK next spring if you'd waited.
