Hardy Golden Lotus Banana in flower and pups

My Hardy Golden Lotus Banana has flowered for first time this year in its pot.
It has 101 pups shooting from around the base of the plant.
Should I wait till next spring or remove the pups now into pots if they have roots.
Also should I leave the plant in its wet compost over winter as I lost another over winter from rotting although I did not water either plant from Nov till April.
