Does anyone know what these are? They look as though they might be poisonous and they have appeared in my son's vegetable patch.

They look like they might be fly agaric. HIghly toxic.

Others might have other ideas.

Definitely not fly agaric, that has gills rather than pores on the underside and white patches on top.

Assuming you are in the UK I would say you have Hortiboletus rubellus sometimes called a ruby bolete, it's a pretty rare mushroom and NOT poisonous, it does apparently taste bad however.

Thank you Skandi. Yes, I'm in the UK. I looked up the Ruby Boletus and it does look very like them, though the skin doesn't look so shiny. Good to know its probably not poisonous.
