Is this a weed?

These plants appeared randomly in a pot that had been left aside from last year.  It looks healthy but cannot identify it so wondering if this is a weed

    Yes, those are windblown seedlings from a Goat willow ... Salix caprea ... they get everywhere and they're a nuisance.  They're great for wildlife if you've got a wildlife garden of several acres ... otherwise pull them out and bin them.

    Thank you. It must have seeded itself from the tree next door which looks like a Goat willow! :o

    Fluffy seeds that float on the slightest breeze ... 😖 😂

    oh no.... !   ... thank you for the warning, I shall look out for willow seedlings in spring  :neutral:
