Oak trees

hey guys, need help so I'm growing a few oak trees but I'm a beginner, the leaves are going white, they seem to still seem to be growing nicely but is there anything I need to do, do they need feeding or is this normal, I've attached a few photos, thanks in advance!

They look like they have a case of powdery mildew too, as do lots of other plants after the recent weather.  I would take @philippasmith2 's advice but as they will lose their leaves naturally soon, I don't think there's anything to particularly worry about.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

There seems to be quite a few people on the forum growing oak trees. I'm wondering what they all intend doing with them!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Well I intended to grow mine when my daughter was born but it failed so we tried again last year and loads took, so I've got loads of oak trees going, my partners family have a farm so may plant them there or donate them if thats a thing! Want to keep one so we can watch it grow, and will be our tree!

The squirrels plant me lots of little oak trees. They often get powdery mildew. One survived a couple of cuttings down and is now 15 ft or so. Nothing like the 150 yr old parent that we had pruned today. One of the neighbours thought it was theirs, applied for permission and got it to raise the crown. It was a bit low, but now it looks a bit sad. I think a lot of the gaps will fill out again next year. I got severe saw envy at the pruning saw he was using, a Silky curved pruning saw, went through two inch branches like butter.  We did discover that there are some holes that look like Bat roosts, but going up with the bat detector tonight, they seem to have moved to the other oak that hasn't been touched .

We get rid of our little saplings, we have a mature oak tree, and don't want any more, it is a lovely tree mind.
  • The more oak trees in the world, the better - just not in my small suburban garden, unfortunately!
