Pruning a leggy hebe

I have very leggy hebe...that is only growing at the top end now...I know I can't prune it now, but I give a hard prune next year?

    They don't always respond well to hard pruning, but you could take some of the longest sections off. There's quite a lot of low growth at the front in the photo, or is that just the photo?
    You can always take cuttings too - plenty of viable material there, and they grow quite readily. If that was mine - I'd cut it back a bit and see if it responds before the weather turns cold enough to prevent growth, or damage any new stuff.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
