Hydrangea Help!

Can someone please tell me why my Hydrangea Limelight is dying? It was bought in July and has been in a large pot for the last 2 months.

The flowers are just dying. It's what they do  :)
The one in the second pic probably has some damage on the stem though, judging by the angle. You might need to take that one off at a leaf joint. Leave the heads on to give a bit of protection to new growth in spring, before following the pruning regime for it. They usually get cut back hard at that point, although that one is small, so won't need much.

It won't be happy in that pot by next year though - too small. Keep it well watered until it's dormant in another month or two, if you have a lot of drier weather.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you Fairygirl, wasn't sure what was happening as they hadn't gone through their full cycle of colour that I was expecting.

They're sometimes a bit forced into flower when you see them in garden centres etc, as they often get them ready for the Easter market,  and the season is a bit shorter for them because of that, especially if weather is a bit hit and miss. It's a fairly young plant.
Just take a look at that wee stem at the front though - in case it breaks off and causes further damage.  :)

All should be fine next year, assuming it's happy and growing well  :)
