@BenCotto  I always thought it was B for Tea.  My grandad was a cockney born in Clapham.

When it become apparent that my youngest grandson was going to say ‘w’ instead of ‘r’ his parents and teachers got him out of it, he’s 12 now and not a sign,  it can be done. Don’t think she resorted to the cupboard method 😀

  • My son said 'w' instead of 'r' .... bit of a problem for him as his name began with .... R

bless him .... he got the hang of it eventually

Our friend's granddaughter is Iris.  She tried very hard to say it correctly, but even when forcing the letters out by nodding her head hard when she said it, it continued to be Iwis until she was about 4 years old.
  • When my granddaughter was born the staff at her 2 year old brother's day care asked my daughter if she'd really called the new baby "Fear". She is actually called Thea!
