Michael Gove on BBC Breakfast. That's it. Enough to ruin anyone's day. Justifying ignoring 'law' then in the same breath talking about enforcing new Covid laws. A bit Cummingsy that to me. Don't do as I do, do as I say?
Shame Andrew Neal isn't around at the moment to look at the Japan trade deal as well. From what I've read so far, it's not that different to the one we had access to through the EU anyway (some additional deal on electronic data). I'm not sure how many people in this country actually realised that EU membership also already meant that the UK benefited both from the trade deals the EU had negotiated around the world (and that they all stop when we leave, unless an agreement is in place with each of the countries) and from also being able to trade around the world anyway. Germany, in 2018, had roughly 15% of it's trade with non-EU (USA and China) countries.
I do hope that the big news organisations are still looking at Brexit and what the net benefit, both financially and in way of standards, to the UK is on leaving.
Bad start to the day - I think I'll go back to bed....
I have no idea what that loo is @B3, but maybe it's designed to give you a shock and wake you up properly in the mornings I've had to order another pair of walking shoes. The heels are worn away already on the ones I got last autumn - not even a year old. The ones I use are usually decent quality, but the soles are clearly not what they used to be. New ones are same brand, but have Vibrams, so hopefully they're better. Grrrrr
That was great @wild edges. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Should be on the RTBC thread

Annoying what they're doing with 'soles' eh? In a mad rush to make footwear lightweight, the durability has suffered. I bought a branded pair of 'town' walking shoes with what look like robust soles - and ditto - after a year the top layer of the sole wore away and the bloody things were hollow.
It's very annoying @steveTu. The soles have always been good before, but these simply haven't stood up to my daily walks at all. What it has highlighted is how much over pronation on the right foot I have. The jeely pieces [inserts] have helped enormously though.
It's even more annoying than my inability to see PMs just now. Actually - what's really annoying is that daughter keeps 'forgetting' to look at it for me

I find them annoying sometimes too @B3, but they're also useful If I eat any more cake I might struggle an' all @steveTu .... ..and since my b'fast banana was very giraffe-y, the last one will need to be made into muffins...
