    Or even "children"?  Kids are the young of goats; commonplace though it is, I think it's demeaning to apply it to young humans.

    We've had to call our adults 'learners' for a good while now. I'm sure there was a reason, but I didn't listen🙉

    The only learners I know of have L plates on their cars.
