Unidentifiable bug

The brick shed where i store my onions has become infested with black bugs about the size of a meat fly not sure if there coming from my onions it would be helpful if someone could put a name to the bugs I’ve included photos

    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • I have checked my onions and everyone is solid with no damage as they were when I lifted them so I don’t think the bugs are onion fly but thanks for Your comments 
  • Have you fed any mealworms to the birds this year? If left in the right conditions, the mealworms will metamorphosise into black bugs. It's difficult to guage their size but a possibility.

    I thin you need better photos that are in focus, and something for scale. Easier for people to ID them successfully @stephengray19 :)

  • I've added better photos and I believe I'm looking at a " Meat fly " and if that's so I'm going to ring my sons neck when he comes back from his fishing holiday
