Unidentifiable bug

The brick shed where i store my onions has become infested with black bugs about the size of a meat fly not sure if there coming from my onions it would be helpful if someone could put a name to the bugs I’ve included photos

    If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

    I have checked my onions and everyone is solid with no damage as they were when I lifted them so I don’t think the bugs are onion fly but thanks for Your comments

    Have you fed any mealworms to the birds this year? If left in the right conditions, the mealworms will metamorphosise into black bugs. It's difficult to guage their size but a possibility.

    I thin you need better photos that are in focus, and something for scale. Easier for people to ID them successfully @stephengray19 :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I've added better photos and I believe I'm looking at a " Meat fly " and if that's so I'm going to ring my sons neck when he comes back from his fishing holiday
