Bamboo plants and bad weather

Hi,
I've bought 3,  6-7ft, clumping bamboo plants and I have replanted them as advised by the seller, just over a week ago.  We are supposed to be getting high winds and lots of rain tonight should I be worried about them?  I've moved them to a more sheltered spot but would it be wise to put string/twine round the canes of each plant to support them?  I am a complete novice gardener so any advice on how to keep them alive would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you 😊

They will be fine don't worry. If they're in pots they might end up on their side but it won't harm them, just put them right again after the gale.

    Thank you very much 🙂
  • I'm a bit worried about mine too, planted in large tubs for screening.I hope they wont break off,as I'm sure the tubs are too solid for them to tip over. Planted about a month ago.

Anything 'top heavy' in a pot is in danger of being cowped in windy weather, regardless of the pot and what's in it.
Bamboo grows in all sorts of conditions and it's tough. It'll be fine. As @Loxley says - you just pick them up again if they fall over  ;)

my new "canes" are over 12 feet tall. I've tied a rope around the whole clump about 6ft from the base.
