What size pot for Rose

I've been bought a 'Rosa Crazy ' as a present. It's in a 3 litre pot at the moment.

I've never grown a  Rose in a container but I've got no where to put it in the garden.

So, what size container should I use? and will it need re potting each year?

Depends if it's a shrub or climber
  • It's a  Floribunda, says Height: up to 110 cm, Spread: 90 cm

I used 60 cm deep and 50 cm wide for roses. I used a mixture of earth, compost and rotted manure, topped up with compost which keeps the weeds down. Roses in pots need more watering and feeding more often than roses in the ground. I didn't re-pot them but I changed the top 2 - 3 inches of compost every spring. The longest I kept a rose in a pot for was 8 years, The Pilgrim climber, then I gave it to my daughter to plant in the ground.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
