May I suggest that you begin with the Border and Alpine types of Auricula. They are easier to get hold of and to grow. They may be planted out in the garden if you then decide to go on to Show and Fancy varieties.
Take care, they are very addictive.
  • Thank you will make a note and start with those varieties.
  • I am sure there will be an Auricula Society/Group in your area where you would be able to buy plants cheaply and learn a great deal about growing them. They are lovely plants with some extraordinary colourings. I was given a garden one a few years ago, it seems to like being divided each year into individual plants and grown in pots. I now have several of them, look great when in flower all together.Watch out for slugs and snails.I top dress my pots with plenty of sharp grit which deters the devils.
  • I have had a good look online and fell in love the beautiful flowers. I am going to attempt an auricula theatre, wish me luck.
