Never worry about how bad a lawn looks after scarifying. It's supposed to! I do it in spring and it looks horrific afterwards. Especially when I've applied moss killer a fortnight earlier. I then sprinkle a bit of grass seed on the very worst bits and it always recovers within six weeks. with plenty of watering. As others have said, don't feed grass until it's fully established. It won't do it any good.

Hi thanks I will wait with the fertilier then.After seeing it look so awful after the scarifying ,it's now looking great by comparison already,when I open the curtains in the morning,I now have the pleasure of seeing grass that has grown over the last couple of weeks it looks beautiful with the morning sun glinting off the fresh dew sticking to the blades of grass
