Shrivelled leaves on acers

Any advice on why acer leaves do this please.

    Where is the plant?
    They can be badly affected by hot sun or wind or drought .
    In London. Keen but lazy.

    The acers are in pots in a small sheltered garden near a wall. Could it be not enough watering if its in a pot?

    Could be. Can we see the whole plant and pot?
    Does it get hot sun at any time of the day?
