Ceanothus "Silver Surprise"

We have a Ceanothus "Silver Surprise" in south facing position in place for 3 years but it does not flower. Any help would be appreciated.

I have one which was very unhappy for a couple of years.  I worked out that its microclimate was causing it to be reluctant to grow or flower, so moved it against a fence, south-west facing.  It is better, and flowered (albeit not prolifically) this year for the first time.
Perhaps yours is more "exposed" than you think?  Or perhaps it just needs a bit more patience!  (mine is five years old).  At least the leaves are pretty!
  • Thank you for this. Yes,the leaves are pretty and I will consider moving it a liitle closer to the fence perhaps to shelter it better.
