Worried about one of our fish :-(

See pictures below, one of our fish is particularly large and its eyes are bulging. I’ve heard of some conditions and I’m slightly worried as in 10 years I’ve not noticed anything by like this. Any advice?

It's got all the hallmarks of Dropsy. You'll have to Google the cure but from memory you also need to tackle the causes of stress in the first place too so find out what they are if you can.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • Ok the recent heat may have been a factor.  The pond water is pretty good we have a good filter and plenty of oxygenating plants. These fish have been happy for a decade or so.

I used to work with someone who was something of a fishaholic and, whenever she had a fish that was apparently under the weather, she'd create a sort of 'sick bay' out of a smaller container, a la old fashioned goldfish bowl, and put a teaspoonful of brandy in the water as she filled it.  She claimed it often worked so, if all else fails, .........
  • Those are definitely poorly fish.

Dropsy, swim bladder disease or constipation would be my guesses.
I've had it on occasion with both tropical and cold water fish.
I hope you can find a remedy for your fish

I think Joyce Goldenlily mistook your multiple pics of one fish as being several?
  • Phew!  I was worried all my fish were going to cop it.

I'm going to clean the pump, fish out as much of the debris as I can (there isn't much) and then give it some treatment.

Once the gale force winds have subsided, that is!

    True.

I remember trying to walk home from school in that.  Crazy times.
