  • 6 degrees forecasted overnight on Saturday, I'm feeling like some failures are on their way...  :o
  • @strelitzia32 that’s interesting re the aubergines,  think I will try some outside next year as I have a sheltered sunny spot. They couldn’t do worse than this year as we haven’t got one so far 😂

@sarinka yes I understand I'm also a bit annoyed about my lavatera. I'm not sure why but I was convinced it wouldn't need support but it's so floppy and just doesn't look the way I thought it would look. I can't quite put my finger on why but I find my lavatera annoying and disappointing this year...

@cassie.a.stewart I did the same thing with seeds and it's a nightmare when you're trying to keep lots of tiny pots watered. I was having to water them three or four times a day on the hottest days.

@thrxvs that's such an impressive list of successes. Even the failures are impressive. I'm sorry to hear about plot neighbour disputes. I'd always thought of allotments as completely harmonious - I feel as though scales have fallen from my eyes!!

I know its been such a challange! I ended up just putting them in plastic containers and filling with water when needed, not very good when it rains and drowns them all though😂🙈

Capillary matting is the best thing ever for raising a large quantity of seedlings in tiny pots.

I think that may be an investment for next spring!

Failures- not marking where I planted some new things from the toffee garden shop, and now I can't find them . Probably munched by snails now 😪

My success this year, almost all my 50 bareroot roses survived and are growing and flowering. My helda beans plants have done so well despite being next to fence.

My failures are mostly due to Wickes compost. I had bought a lot of compost as it was home delivered. The compost was contaminated and my more than 25 seed packets didn't germinate. All the chilli and tomatoes also became paralyzed after potting up in that compost and had to be binned. Also it was such a hard work to get rid of all that compost bit by bit in black bin as couldn't go to council recycling/dump.

Another failure are  mouldy courgette plants. Got only 3 courgette from 3 plants!
