When to plant out buddleia cuttings

This spring I took buddleia cuttings which have done well. They are now comfortably throwing out foot long stems which I have already cut back once to promote more bushiness and the roots are well established in a David Austin rose pot (the square ones). Would you plant them out this autumn or play it safe and wait until the spring? We are in an exposed field essentially so not much protection from the elements. Thanks!

They are pretty tough. I also garden in an exposed spot with winter water-logging and find it safer to plant in spring, but it is usual to plant out in autumn while the soil is still warm.

I  often use pruned pieces for supports, but they root in the ground you stick them in, so you have to keep an eye on them! They're among the easiest of plants to do cuttings from.
You can really plant them at any time except in frozen soil.
If you decide to wait until spring, don't cosset them - just leave them outside somewhere. They're better if allowed to become accustomed to the elements - it's what they'll need to do   :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
