Can anyone identify this insect?

Does anyone recognise this insect. My recently planted laurel hedges are covered with them. Will they cause damage?

    @wild edges identified it for you on your original thread.  Now you need to google for info on that insect but, as has been said, laurel is pretty indestructible.  In a couple of years you'll be back asking how to control it.
