Is this Canker ???

Hi,

Can anyone help confirm if this is apple canker? I wasn't sure as the top part of the branch appears to be growing well. Spartan apple tree 3 years old. I have pruned out the branch as a precaution as it doesn't look good either way. There is a small spot on another branch - should i prune this out too? Is this likely to affect my other trees?
