Invasive weed - removal help!

Hello Everybody,

Early this spring we cleared a bank we have in our garden and covered it in weed control membrane and a layer of mulch. We noticed a few weeds come up from the edges which were appearing weekly to the point it became uncontrollable and we are unsure on how to remove this weed and stop it forming coming back. It has now after a few months of no removal become a massive sheet of weeds which seems to be climbing on to everything. If anyone knows what this is and how to get rid that would be great!

Many Thanks,

Bindweed aka Convolvulus. Weed killer sadly. Or dig out every scrap of root every year until it has gone.
  • Thanks Palustris, sounds like it will be a long process to remove!

Round up Gel will do it.

We had a similar problem. Targeted spraying with Roundup ... leave six weeks until foliage is brown and then remove. Wait until any new shoots appear and repeat. ... Two or three repeats will wipe it out.
Then all you have to do is keep an eye open for invading marauders from beyond your boundary. Treat the infiltrators as soon as you spot them  and you’ll keep it under control. Neglect it and you’ll have to start again 😰
    Good luck 😉
