Geraniums! Dead or Alive

Geraniums! I paid 60 pounds for 10 plants mail order. This is what arrived, the Garden Center. https://www.gardencentrekoeman.co.uk/  Koeman. Refuse to refund and say that they are worth putting in the ground. What do you think please?

Dead or as good as. £60 seems extortionate even for healthy plants
    In London. Keen but lazy.

How long did they stay in the post?

Surprised they won't refund. I haven't dealt with this particular company, but all the mail order companies i have used have been very good with refunds where needed.

Just for info, Hayloft have 10 hardy geraniums for £16 at the moment. I have no connection with them other than as a satisfied customer.

I ordered 6 Deschampsia 'Goldtau' from Koeman last year (12.99) - they were much healthier than your geraniums and have made big, flowering plants this year. However I am not convinced they are the correct variety, they seem like the straight Deschampsia cespitosa to me, they are taller and more open than I was expecting.

Hardy geraniums are surprisingly robust and easy, even when in a dire state - which those are.
60 quid! This is the problem with these kinds of outlet. They aren't 'growers' just retailers, and often not very good ones. I wouldn't have been happy with the price or the condition, and would be requesting some kind of refund, even if only partial.

Far better to use proper online nurseries in future - Clare Austin , Burncoose etc.  It avoids this sort of situation.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

You wuz robbed. Sadly. They look very dead but geraniums can surprise you so it might be worth planting these to see if anything grows, after all you have nothing to lose. In future it might be worth buying from a reputable nursery. I have bought named geraniums from Dorset Perennials in the past and have even acquired some decent ones from Tesco though I swear they weren't the variety named on the packet. All I will say is, they now dominate the garden.
The internet is awash with specialist nurseries and if you come across anything you want to buy, you can always ask the forum if others have had a good or bad experience with that particular vendor.

The thread was bumped up by a cheeky freeloading advertiser ... 5 flags and it’s gone. 😊

Cheeky. That'll teach me to look at the date at the start of a thread.
