What causing this to turn brown

Any idea why this is turning brown. Was okay till last week 

Would it be a result of the hot weather last week

Should i trim it out or leave till after winter

    Snip it off.  It won't turn green again and then give the plant a good, deep, slow drink unless you've had some biblical rainfall.
